The 34th Avenue Open Streets Coalition partners with the NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) to bring life to 26 blocks of open streets in a residential section of central Queens. Stretching from 69th Street in Woodside to Junction Boulevard in Corona, we serve the diverse neighborhoods of Woodside, East Elmhurst, Elmhurst, Jackson Heights, and Corona.
As an all-volunteer community organization, we keep the street active and welcoming year-round. Open daily from 7 am to 8 pm, the open street hosts hundreds of events each year. From outdoor summer camps and daily programming in spring and fall to seasonal activities in winter when weather allows.
Our programs offer something for everyone, welcoming all ages and interests. From classes and creative activities to cultural celebrations and community support, we create a vibrant space where neighbors can connect, learn, and have fun together.
We also collaborate with local organizations and city agencies to offer essential services such as immigration clinics and health workshops. With so much happening on 34th Avenue, everyone is welcome to join us, whether by participating, volunteering, or supporting our work through donations. Together, we build a stronger community.
